L'Hôpital-sous-Rochefort

Former church of the medieval priory, Notre-Dame still stands proudly in the village of L'Hôpital-sous-Rochefort. Of the original building, of Romanesque style, only the square of the crossing of the transept remains. The nave was rebuilt in the 15th century, just like the bell tower. Inside, you can admire 15th-century murals in the choir, as well as scenes from the life of the Virgin of the eighteenth century.

There are still some vestiges of the former priory, but it was ravaged by a fire in the second half of the 20th century. Partly private and communal, it has been renovated in some places.

Walking through the town, you will be able to admire the remains of the 15th century ramparts, such as the door of Boën leaned against a fortified house, or the beautiful house of Coupat, a 16th century bourgeois residence. This last one welcomes bed and breakfast.

In April, place at the Troc'Plantes, for exchanges of seeds, seedlings and advice, as well as for various friendly animations.

A large, friendly paella is offered every spring.

For the festival of music, in June, L'Hôpital-sous-Rochefort organizes a gourmet market in addition to concerts.

Every first weekend of September, the village organizes its patronal feast with animations, a passage of brioche or even a dancing meal.

In the beginning of December, the installation of the Christmas tree of the commune is the occasion to spend a friendly moment around a hot wine and animations.
