The Château de Beauregard is located in the town of Juillac-le-Coq, in the department of Charente, 15 km south-east of Cognac.
Located to the east of the town, it was the seat of a small seigniory whose lands were acquired in 1737 by Paul-César Guédon, referendum adviser to the Parliament of Bordeaux. Later, they passed by marriage to the Lotherie family.
The current castle was built over several decades during the 18th century (from 1737 to 1761), substantially modifying an original dwelling in the classical style of rectangular shape with a projecting central bay (17th century).
The dwelling itself was extended and surrounded by a terrace with stone balusters. The facade overlooking the courtyard (closed on the sides by outbuildings) was rebuilt in cut stone, still comprising a front part which was adorned with a triangular pediment and molded decorations. The main door is framed by pilasters with Corinthian capitals. Inside, stone fireplaces in the rococo style, stucco decorations and a staircase with wrought iron railings have been preserved.
In the 19th century, having become the center of a wine estate producing pineau and cognac liqueur, the cellars were enlarged.
