Located between Bordeaux, Royan and Cognac, the town of Jonzac is a modern spa and famous. Located in Charente-Maritime region in New Aquitaine, she is the first urban unit of the Pays de Haute-Saintonge. Attractions to discover no shortage of Jonzac, either side of ancient monuments or the recent spa.

Located in old stone quarries, the Jonzac Spa is the newest of the southwest of France. Founded in 1986, it offers cures to treat rheumatology problems, respiratory and phlebology. Not far away, a water recreation center, Jonzac of the Caribbean, opened in 2002. You may like to enjoy a tropical lagoon with wave pool, waterfalls, geysers, slides, or tropical garden. A fitness center, restaurant and shops complete the entertainment offering.

most appreciated tourist monument of the city, the castle Jonzac sits on a limestone outcrop in the height of the Seugne Valley. Built largely in the fifteenth century, it was heavily modified during the nineteenth century, especially to accommodate the City Hall, the Prefecture and the theater. Classified as an historic monument, the building which received therein Henri IV, Louis XIV and Mazarin, unveils its esplanade a monumental statue of the Republic. Originally built in the High Middle Ages, Saint-Gervais-Saint-Protais church has a current architecture dates from the twelfth century. According to legend, Charlemagne would have deposited the remains of St. Anthème, former bishop of Poitiers. On the front, you can see a typical Romanesque Saintonge, and the building has in its last stage eight columns provided with human faces. Events and festivities

The weekly markets are held Jonzac Tuesday, Friday and Saturday morning. In front of the hall, a small green market also takes place on Sunday morning. In December, a Christmas market with entertainment and artisans of the region is revealed. Every second Friday of each month, the city hosts its monthly fair. From mid-June to mid-September, on Wednesday evening, a night market is organized around the halls, and two flea markets take place in June and October.

Every second Sunday in December, Jonzac welcomes the scholarship and old toy collection with fifty collectors present.
