Horbourg-Wihr

City Horbourg-Wihr this still an interesting historical heritage and charm.

Romanesque St. Michael Church presents today a square tower dating from the fourteenth century. Inside, murals of the sixteenth century classified as an historic monument can discover the details of the life of Saint Margaret and that of the Church Fathers. Tours are offered on weekends during the summer.

Horbourg-Wihr can admire a beautiful Catholic church in the Gothic Revival style built in the late nineteenth century. A Protestant church was also rebuilt in the early twentieth century.

The Ill bridge located Horbourg-Wihr was originally built in the late eighteenth century. Destroyed during World War II in 1940, it was rebuilt in 1948. It definitely is one of the most beautiful bridges in the region facing stone.

Visitors can also enjoy the Bridge of Americans who served landing ramp on 6 June 1944. This is the only bridge of its kind in the whole of Alsace.

In the city, especially in the High Street, the street of the Church, the Rue des Ecoles and rue the 5th Armored Division, it is possible to appreciate the beauty of old manorial farm seventeenth century. They each have particularly impressive porches.

The interesting events abound in the small Alsatian town of Horbourg-Wihr.

Horbourg-Wihr organizes every year in June a flea market. At the same time, the city offers a global celebration of the game in its game library. On this occasion, visitors can learn about games of all forms.
