Hières-sur-Amby

Classified as Historical Monuments, the archaeological site of Larina is the largest tourist center in the town. During excavations, many objects were found dating back to the origins of the city, from the Bronze Age to the Middle Ages. Also classified as a sensitive natural space, the site offers a unique setting at the edge of the cliffs, not far from a lake with peat bog. To learn a little more about the glorious past of the city, a museum has been opened in an old 18th century slate cure, revealing a rich collection of archaeological objects. Labeled Musée de France, it is also the setting for regular cultural events.

Do not forget to go to rue de la Poste to discover the Ferme de la Balmetière. Built in the 18th century, it reveals magnificent buildings covered with slate, as well as a building covered with flat tiles from the end of the 19th century. Listed as an historic monument, it also has a very beautiful old bread oven.

Several marked hiking trails allow you to explore the rich heritage of Hières-sur-Amby. Lovers of walking, cycling or horse riding will be able to take in the surroundings more than fifty kilometers of paths and trails.

The market takes place on Wednesday and Saturday morning.

In June, the ball de la Vogue events take place, notably with a funfair and fireworks.

In mid-August, motorsport enthusiasts can attend the Rallye des Cimes.

A garage sale is organized every year in September.

A Christmas market is offered at the end of the year.
