Municipality of Bas-Rhin, in Alsace, Herrlisheim takes place about fifteen kilometers from Strasbourg and Haguenau.
Mentioned from the 8th century as a gift to the convent of Wissembourg, the Alsatian city was then called Hariolfesvilla. Passed from hand to hand over the centuries, the municipality of Herrlisheim will however have to wait for the 19th century and the arrival of the railway to experience real expansion. Largely destroyed in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, it fell completely into ruins in 1945 following the actions of Operation Nordwind. Entirely rebuilt, the city was able to rise from its ashes in order to reveal the attractive allure that we know today.
