Sixth largest city in terms of population of the department of Pas-de-Calais, Hénin-Beaumont is born from the merger of Hénin-Beaumont with Liétard-en-Artois in 1971. Located between Lens and Douai, the town is one the four city centers of the urban area Douai-Lens.
Once facing the coal and mining Hénin-Beaumont retains many traces of the past, especially through mining houses. One called Humanity during the French Revolution, still has many dumps surroundings.
Today Hénin-Beaumont has some beautiful buildings with typical architecture of northern France, as its beautiful church built in the 1930s dynamic and alive, this town in the Pas-de-Calais also offers many cultural and sporting events throughout the year.
