Municipality of Ille-et-Vilaine, between Vilaine, Canut and Seiche, Guichen takes place halfway between the Channel and the Atlantic Ocean, about twenty kilometers from Rennes. Populated by nearly 8,400 inhabitants, it is located forty-five kilometers from Redon, not far from Guignen, Loéhac and Saint-Senoux.
The one that takes its name from the Celtic Gwik-Ec-Hen, which means Bourg des Sources, was born at the beginning of the 12th century. From this old village, nothing remains today, it has given way to a more modern architecture. Guichen has lived a relatively peaceful history over the centuries gradually taking on the face we know with its important tourist activity.
The city still has today an interesting historical heritage, as well as preserved landscapes and perfect for the practice of outdoor activities.
