Things to see and do

This is the 12th century takes its national Grignols becoming the seat of the Counts of Perigord, players in the history of France for centuries under the names of Talleyrand and Taillefer and immortalized in the 18th by a "Diable Boiteux" . The castle was never occupied by a fortress of the soldiers. This function of "war machine" explains that through the centuries, Grignols was the subject of much predation as the Hundred Years War, the wars of religion, the revolt of the crisp. The fortress was destroyed in 1652 during the revolt by Balthazar, captain of Conde.

By taking the road to St-Jacques, you can see the last of four churches Grignols. The fortified church of St. Front Bruc 15th century, southern gothic style has also lived and suffered all the torments of the story (listed in the inventory of MH).

Grignols is a village rich in prehistoric and historic memories.
