Military fort overlooking the town of Grenoble, in Isère, at an altitude of 476 meters, the Bastille was built in the first half of the 19th century on the last buttresses of the Chartreuse massif, in place of a first building of the Sixteenth century.
Accessible via a cable car, this is the region's tourist site not to be missed. Visitors can admire the fortified spaces or even the breathtaking panoramas. The entire Bastille hill also hosts four museums, as well as a Cultural Center, which allow you to learn a little more about the history of the city and the region, like the Musée des Troupes of Mountain.
