On the road of the bishops and the Counts of Metz was built a Benedictine abbey already mentioned in the twelfth century from which there remain arcades in pink sandstone and many sources. The abbey opens to the Rhenish influence and welcomes many nuns including the famous Hildegard of Bingen around 1160.
Visible also, the Protestant church built in 1619 from the stones of the old abbey and the Annunciation Romanesque church of Neo Romanesque style of the twentieth century built entirely of stoneware pink sandstone.
Former storage place of the abbey, the houses of the Rocks are, since the eighteenth century, very unique dwellings and give notoriety to this small village. These small semi-troglodyte blue houses restored and refurbished evoking the daily life of their former occupants. The site, classified as early as 1938, houses an exhibition "Rocks and Men" that allows you to discover not only other remarkable rocks of the Northern Vosges, but also the contemporary look of different artists.
