- Location: Fos-sur-Mer is located 50 km from Marseille on the Mediterranean coast, at the bottom of a gulf to which it gave its name. It is also located at the southern end of the plain of La Crau. To the west of the city is the Parc Naturel Régional de Camargue.
- History / Heritage: The town was occupied in antiquity by the Romans, has a rich heritage. With Hauture, a medieval fortress which, from its 32 m high, overlooks the old center, or the church of Saint-Sauveur and Romanesque architecture dating from the 10th century. In the 60's, Fos-sur-Mer was a small village living from fishing and agriculture. The city, its location, is subsequently become the largest industrial port complex in Southern Europe.
- Environment: The territory of Fos-sur-Mer is composed of many natural areas: lake of the Stomach, saline marsh plain of the Crau hosting an exceptional flora and fauna with over 250 species of birds. The municipality has the European Blue Flag beaches and ports, which represents a guarantee of quality of bathing water and a set of equipment and services for all.
- Tourism: With its 6 km of natural beaches, Fos-sur-Mer allows the whole family to enjoy activities: swimming, sailing, fishing, diving baptism. In summer, usability is also in the spotlight through the many festivities organized by the city.
