Lighthouse Pointe Negroes and located near the coast, on the eponymous Pointe, dominating from the west of the city harbor and the bay of Fort-de-France, Martinique.
It was built during the first half of the twentieth century (probably in 1920) in the form of a cylindrical tower painted metal skeleton in white, and at its peak, a fire emits a white light every 5 seconds.
This unique example in Martinique metal architecture used in the field of maritime signaling justified the inclusion in the inventory of the lighthouse, which is 28 m high but overlooks the sea 36 m.
Two small houses guards, one level, were built nearby. The current lighthouse succeeded first fire that was set since 1855 on a high mast on the nearby military fort.
