Commune in the north of Haute-Garonne, about ten kilometers from Toulouse, Fenouillet takes place not far from Castelginest, Saint-Alban, Blagnac and Lespinasse.
Developed since Antiquity, the town which takes its name from the Latin fenoletum (hay or fodder) developed for a long time around its many pastures on the banks of the Garonne. The 19th century will be the advent of the industrial era in Fenouillet, in particular with the establishment of the Papeteries de Lacourtensourt and the Abattoirs factory.
The one that inspired Matisse continues to attract visitors today, between architectural heritage and a hiking trail in the footsteps of the famous French painter.
