Feldbach Sundgau is a small village located in the department of Haut-Rhin in the south of Alsace. Its inhabitants are called the Feldbachois and Feldbachoises. The town is twinned with Arveyres is located in Gironde, near St Emilion.
The town covers five square kilometers and has 470 inhabitants in the census of January 2012. Feldbach is a village where life is good. Surrounded by the municipalities of Riespach, Heimersdorf, Kœstlach and Bisel, Feldbach, it is part of the canton of Hirsingue and the district of Altkirch. The nearest big cities are Feldbach Basel 33 km Mulhouse 34 km and Belfort at 45 km. Located 405 meters above sea level, the town is crossed by the "Feldbach" and "Klemmerbach" during sometimes torrential.
Its emblem is the "drone" or "stick Pilgrim" St Jacques finger, patron of the parish.
The village has a historic heritage with the restored Romanesque church of the twelfth century listed building which annually attracts many visitors and certainly represents a valuable asset for tourism and cultural Sundgau. Witnesses of History are also the two buildings of the road leading to Riespach, the elegant and imposing priory (1542) and tithe barn.
