Things to see and do

Champagne avenue: The Avenue de Champagne is a district of the major production houses and the world-renowned wine trade. It is decorated with many buildings of the XIXth century, with a luxurious appearance in the Renaissance or classical style. 100 Tasteful Sites in France. Totaling more than 100 km of galleries dug in the chalk where are housed millions of bottles in which the Champagne slowly is developed, the large cellars receive there daily very numerous visitors.

Hôtel de Ville: Former private mansion of Monsieur Auban-Moët, built in 1858 and ceded to the city in 1919, it retains the charm of a private residence in the center of a beautiful park. Inside, luxurious salons, notably the Wedding Room and the Board Room, deserve the attention of visitors. In front of the facade, a terrace was skilfully used as a buttress of the Monuments to the Dead, designed by M. Giraud, architect, and by M. J. Dechin, Prix de Rome Sculpture. The Town Hall rises in a magnificent park designed in the last century by the Brothers Bülher, creators of the Tête d'Or Park in Lyon.

The Orangerie: The Garden of the Orangerie of the Establishments Moët and Chandon, was designed in the First Empire (1807) by the Lorraine painter Isabey. It bears this name since the building reflected in the basin of the French garden serves to shelter the winter orange trees of the Garden Chandon Moët House. Visible from the Avenue but can not be visited.

Château Perrier: This private mansion of M. Charles Perrier is built in stone Louis XIII style and has in the center of the court the equestrian statue in cast iron Le Veneur (1890-1900). In 1940, this building housed the HQ of the German armies from 1942 to 1944. After the liberation of Patton, the Americans settled in this building.
