Listed as Historical Monuments, the birthplace of Joan of Arc takes place in the heart of Domrémy-la-Pucelle, in the Vosges department. This 15th-century medieval-style mansion has remained famous for welcoming the famous liberator of France when she heard her first voices.
Labeled Maison des Illustres, the residence, now owned by the department, has been completely restored to welcome visitors wishing to learn a little more about this famous character in French history.
On site, it is thus possible to discover the birthplace, Jeanne's room, the brothers' room or even the cellar. On the facade is also revealed a tympanum carved with a coat of arms and a statue has been added, representing Joan of Arc in armor, kneeling.
