Lantis Castle is located in the town of Dégagnac, in the Lot, 30 km northwest of Cahors.
It is located away from the village, in the hamlet of Lantis, near a cross which refers to a former priory served by the parish church of the village in the Middle Ages.
The castle initially consists of a simple fortified house mentioned in the 15th century. Then the building was remodeled and enlarged in the 17th and 18th centuries, with a dovecote on the outside and a unique star-shaped paving inside. Abandoned during the Renaissance, now carefully restored by new owners who have also restored its Renaissance-style doorway, the castle hosts receptions and exhibitions. Since 2017, a magnificent Renaissance garden made up of four boxwood parterres in the shape of a diamond point has highlighted the facade of the castle. In addition, a gîte has been set up in the old bread oven.
