The castle dates from medieval times, it was enlarged in the eighteenth century and modified under Viollet-le-Duc in the nineteenth century.
The castle houses a unique collection of 17th century Dutch gilded leather wall hangings and a collection of wallpapers dating back to 1860. A model of these leather hangings is on display at the Metropolitan Museum in New York. York in the section of the Netherlands.
The park is home to magnificent trees more than a century old, including redwoods and an Atlas cedar.
Castle Crocq is now converted into bed and breakfast but regularly opens its doors for many events.
