Located in the commune of Pluneret, just a few kilometers from the center of Auray, the castle of Plessis-Kaër is an important Breton manor house. Jewel of Morbihan, the building was in the middle of the sixteenth century the seat of a barony that extended over the parishes of Crach, Locmariaquer, Carnac, Brech, Pluvigner or Baden.
Successive ownership of several families, including that of Robien, whose most famous member is Christophe-Paul de Robien, representative Breton parliamentarian of the Enlightenment. Sold as national property at the end of the 18th century, following the throes of the French Revolution, the castle of Plessis-Kaër is now in the same family since 1999.
Located on the banks of the Auray River, the building is composed of a castle rebuilt in the 16th century, as well as a vast natural park of more than fifty hectares. Private property, the castle of Plessis-Kaër offers today to stay in its rooms with rich and fascinating history, thanks to guest rooms renovated in the mid-2010s.
