Located at the meeting of Champagne and Burgundy, Pays d'Othe and Chaourçois, the commune of Coursan in Othe was once the prey and purpose of many battles of territory between the Dukes of Burgundy and the kings of France. Coursan was very popular because of its strategic position. There was built a large fortress whose height made it possible to detect risks of invasions several tens of kilometers away. From this castle, where the great dukes were staying when they came and went from the capital, remains today only the moat and a watchtower.
