Coursan is a village located at the crossroads of major routes of penetration, door of the Aude, served by the motorway, 15 km from the Mediterranean, 10 km from the Canal du Midi, in the foothills of Clape scented scrubland.
In ancient times, was already a step Coursan rest for travelers traveling the Via Domitia. From street to street, from place to place, Coursan welcomes you for a ride to the discovery of a rich architectural heritage and offers small snack breaks in cafes and restaurants.
The steeple of the church: old watch tower 24 meters high built in the 13th century, it allowed to monitor the surroundings and the fording of the Aude.
The bridge of the Aude: beautiful building from the late 17th century which was built by order of Charles the ninth after his difficult passage of the Aude.
The Church of Our Lady of Rominguière: built between the 12th and 13th century, backed by the watchtower. Inside, you can see a fragment of a sarcophagus representing Daniel in the lions' den and a Golden Virgin carved in the tradition of Spanish art of the 15th century.
Fountains: two fountains which the model was sculpted by Charles Lebourg, are identical to the one the British philanthropist Sir Richard Wallace gave to the city of Paris in 1872.
The fountain ferruginous: up Tailhades located, is an artesian well drilling conducted in 1865 for drinking water without having to fetch water from the river. 155 m of a soda water springs, and ferruginous recognized therapeutic. Travelers from the ancient Via Domitia and the Compostela pilgrims halted there.
The cross of passion: the passion of the cross is dated between 1760-1780. It recalls the location of the old cemetery where only Coursannais were buried. The foreign Coursan were buried in the cemetery "outside" behind the walls of the city.
The Convent of St. Joseph door of the old convent dating back to 1871. During this period, the Sisters of St. Joseph have lived and worked in providing aid and support to all those in need or pain.
Hôpital Saint-Jacques: he provided shelter and comfort to the pilgrims of the Way of St. Jacques de Compostela.
