Located in the town of Corte, in Haute-Corse, Lac de Melo takes place in the heart of the upper Restonica valley. Integrated into the nature reserve of the Monte Rotondo massif, it is accessible via a hiking trail starting from the Grotelle sheepfold.
Frozen for six months a year, Lake Melo, of glacial origin, notably gave birth to the Restonica River. Circular in shape, it extends over nearly seven hectares, thus offering walkers an impressive view. Located at 1711 meters above sea level, it is today the most visited lake on the Island of Beauty, as it is easily accessible.
