The welcoming small town of Conches-en-Ouche, the capital of Pays d'Ouche, is located on high ground by a meander of the Rouloir and has a beautiful religious building as a reminder of its historic past. The Flamboyant Gothic Church of St. Faith is crowned by a tall spire and contains some magnificent Renaissance stained glass windows from the 16th century, depicting scenes from the life of Christ, the Virgin and St. Faith.

Also worth a look are the old half-timbered houses on Rue Sainte-Foy; the keep, built at the end of the 11th century by a lord of Conches; the charming floral garden with its panoramic view of the Rouloir Valley, and the Museum of the Norman Region, which is dedicated to traditional trades and has a fine collection of old tools.
