The Church of Our Lady-of-Angels of Collioure, in the Pyrenees-Orientales, was built from 1684 to 1691, its Tuscan style dome being added in 1810 only.
It presents the specificity of being at the port, the old label tower has been used as a bell tower surrounded by the waters.
Vauban preferring that the new port is moved to Port-Vendres, it was given the authorization to the consuls to use the site to replace the medieval church, shaved by the same Vauban to develop the castle of the city.
Outside its dome, the church presents a southern Gothic style. It is renowned for its many chapels bordering the nave and its rich furniture (altarpieces of the seventeenth and eighteenth, paintings of the fifteenth, vintage locker Louis XIII). Classified Historic Monument, the unique building of its location also houses a treasure (landscaped in the old sacristy) consisting of processional cross, candlesticks, ostensoirs, but also reliquaries.
