House from the first half of the 19th century located in Clisson, in Loire-Atlantique, the villa of La Garenne-Valentin is today listed as a Historic Monument. Originally a priory of the Benedictines of the Trinity, it has preserved an Angevin style cloister from this period. Burned during the Vendée wars, it was bought in 1809 by Jean-Charles Valentin, an art collector who decided to transform it into an Italian villa. At the time, it was also equipped with a superb landscaped garden. The building is now owned by the city of Clisson.
