It was the architect Teillard who built this opera house between 1891 and 1894, from the old canvas hall on the Place de Jaude. The scenic spaces and the Italian-style room take place at the rear of the long facade of the hall. The main entrance is on Boulevard Desaix. Its elaborate architecture received a rich decoration due to the sculptor Gourgouillon.
