- Inauguration of a stele in memory of Lieutenant Paul CHAUFTY, American airman shot down on a mission at Les Fortinières in Ciral on 08/13/1944, who died for our freedom, while providing air support to troops of the 2nd DB Leclerc and the 3rd db us en route to Argentan and the strangling of the Falaise-Chambois-MontOrmel pocket. Ceremony attended by two American families.
