Village of Deux-Sèvres, in the region of New Aquitaine, Chizé takes place on the banks of the forest of the same name, between Beauvoir-sur-Niort and Brioux-sur-Boutonne. It is located on the edge of the department of Charente-Maritime, about twenty kilometers from Niort and Saint-Jean-d'Angely.
Former Gallo-Roman domain named Catus, the town of Chizé is equipped with a defense tower from the time of feudalism.
