Labeled Remarkable Garden and classified as a Historic Monument, the park of the Ravalet castle, at Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, is revealed in the form of a very beautiful landscaped park of around fifteen hectares. In the middle of remarkable trees and winding paths, walkers will happily discover the dahlia conservatory or even an incredible meadow bordered by natural spaces.
In the middle of the park is revealed the Ravalet castle built in the 16th century on an old feudal motte. Sadly famous for the dramatic fate reserved for Julien and Marguerite de Ravalet, it underwent major restoration in the 19th century. It was at this time that the park of the Château des Ravalet was also enhanced with two water features and a rotunda greenhouse, one of the most spectacular preserved in this part of Normandy.
If the park has preserved its original structure since then, it has been enlarged, then enriched with plantations from the four corners of the globe. In 2014, he also saw the creation of the Mandala garden, a square Zen space, and the Prairie in islands, an incredible moving garden.
