Commune des Vosges, Grand Est region, Châtel-sur-Moselle is located about twenty kilometers from Epinal, not far from Zincourt and Regney.
Medieval stronghold founded in the second half of the eleventh century, Châtel-sur-Moselle was then a Burgundy enclave in the Duchy of Lorraine. It is taken in the second half of the seventeenth century by the troops of Louis XIV who dismantles the fortress a year later. Strongly affected by the Second World War, the town was awarded the war cross 1939-1945 in 1949.
