Mountain village at the gateway to the Mercantour National Park, Châteauneuf-d'Entraunes is located in the Alpes-Maritimes department, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. Overlooking the valley of the Var, it takes place not far from Valberg and Entrevaux, a hundred kilometers from Nice.
Former, the village of fifty inhabitants already existed in the Gallo-Roman era, and was then attached to the civitas of Glanate. He goes from hand to hand before redeeming his freedom and privilege under the suzerainty of the crown in the seventeenth century.
Even today, Châteauneuf-d'Entraunes remains popular with visitors for its enchanting setting, unspoiled landscapes, as well as for its great architectural heritage that bears witness to a turbulent and culturally diverse history.
