Formerly known as the abbey of Fontaine Vive, the abbey of Notre-Dame de Grosbot de Charras is now a classified site and used for the organization of seminars or film shoots.
This former Cistercian abbey founded in the second half of the 10th century was dissolved during the Revolution and sold as national property. Of the Notre-Dame de Grosbot abbey, only a few vestiges remain today, including the arm of the north transept of the church, or even a chapter house.
The monastic buildings have been transformed many times over the centuries. Partly destroyed by fire, they were restored in the early 1990s.
The site can be visited by appointment or during Heritage Days in September.
