Charencey is a town in the Orne region in Normandy, 50 km west of Dreux, within the departments of Eure and Eure-et-Loir.
It was created on 1 January 2018 following the merger of Saint-Maurice-lès-Charencey, its seat (500), Moussonvilliers (230 inhabitants) and Normandel (100 inhabitants), so now with a population of some 850 inhabitants.
The territory of the village with an area of 45 km² belongs to the natural region of Perche, which ensures the transition between the Massif Armorican to the west and the Paris Basin to the east, with a landscape of valleys and green plateaus at the rich hydrography: Perche feeds the watershed of the Loire and the Seine.
Historically, now associated dependent villages in the Middle Ages a powerful lordship whose loyal lords to the king of France fought against the Dukes of Normandy and the English during the Hundred Years War.

- On the occasion of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Fédération Française de Randonnée Pédestre, which has been awarded the "Terre de Jeux" label, is organizing the "Grande Randonnée vers Paris". - The "Grande Randonnée vers Paris" event will see hikers from all over France converge on the capital in the spring of 2024, following the GR hiking trails. - The CDRP 61 is involved in this project, organizing a 12-day itinerary (190 km) on the GR®22 between La Fosse Arthour (entrance to the Orne department) and Saint-Maurice-lès-Charencey. - In addition to these 12 stages on the GR®22, there are 5 stages on the GR®36 between La Forêt-Auvray and the Carrefour des Arcis in the Forêt d ? They open their doors to show you their work directly. These artists are all professionals recognized in their field and used to exhibitions in the whole France and even abroad. They agreed to open their workshop to share with you their passions, their techniques and their approaches. - N°23 : The work of Milaine Lung, resolutely figurative, is oriented according to two axes : with "modern" materials I privilege landscapes, seascapes, portraits. With the mixed techniques "with the old one" I direct myself rather towards the representations of imagination.
