Charencey is a town in the Orne region in Normandy, 50 km west of Dreux, within the departments of Eure and Eure-et-Loir.

It was created on 1 January 2018 following the merger of Saint-Maurice-lès-Charencey, its seat (500), Moussonvilliers (230 inhabitants) and Normandel (100 inhabitants), so now with a population of some 850 inhabitants.

The territory of the village with an area of ​​45 km² belongs to the natural region of Perche, which ensures the transition between the Massif Armorican to the west and the Paris Basin to the east, with a landscape of valleys and green plateaus at the rich hydrography: Perche feeds the watershed of the Loire and the Seine.
