Located in the heart of the vineyard between the Côte Chalonnaise and the Côte de Beaune, Chagny, the capital of the canton, is located at a crossroads of communication routes. Near the A6 motorway, on the great wine tourist route, it is crossed by the Canal du center which has recently been run alongside a cycle path, the Voie Verte.
The city has around 6,000 inhabitants and has many tourist attractions.
Labeled “Terre de Jeux 2024” and “Small Town of Tomorrow” in 2021, the City is more involved than ever in further developing its attractiveness and uniting its population and its associations.
Natural spaces are also an important concern which ensures a certain balance between urbanization and the natural setting; this is why the town is one of the “towns and villages in bloom” and obtained its first flower in 2005 in the regional flower competition. She is currently competing for second.
