Caumont village is located at the junction of the lower terraces of the Garonne and hills, largely wooded, on a promontory overlooking the valley.
Caumont is mentioned for the first time in the 11th century, a possession of the Viscounts of Lomagne given to the abbey of Moissac.
The central space was occupied by a castle that still existed in the mid-18th century, around which grew habitat down the hill.
The church of Saint-Laurent presents the south porch, 14th century, decorated with capitals with masks and foliage.
