A village in Roussillon drained by the Agly, Cases-de-Pène is located in the heart of the Perpignan attraction area, not far from Rivesaltes and Baixas.
Occupied since pre-Roman times, the territory of Cases-de-Pène has continued to pass from hand to hand over the centuries, from the Vandals to the Spaniards. Turbulent, the history of the town has however calmed down. During the 19th century, it became an important wine-growing commune before seeing its vineyards destroyed by the phyloxera epidemic of 1885. It was not until the following century that viticulture resurfaced in Cases-de-Pène, notably thanks to the impetus of new cooperatives and Producer Groups.
