Resort of Herault, Carnon-Plage had its main development during the second half of the nineteenth century, particularly through the development of Grau of Pérols channel. Located about ten kilometers from Montpellier, it is a stakeholder in the city of Mauguio. Since the early 1860s there are anything that makes the success of a tourist resort with including sea bathing, restaurants or cottages. Formerly Carnon-Plage was considered the beach reserved for the elite of Montpellier, until the seaside tourism is democratized.
Must resort in Languedoc and its coastline, Carnon-Plage does not lack charm or attractions, including its lively marina and filled with boats of all kinds. The site is built in the style of a new city, with a plane orthogonal streets like La Grande-Motte. Some old houses of fishermen, however, remain visible in this ode to modernity.
