Religious Gothic building located Capestang, in the department of Herault, the Cathedral Saint-Etienne was built in the course of the thirteenth century. Today listed building, it reveals a bell tower forty-five meters high which dominates the village and surprised by its unusual size and its lack of nave. Climbing the tower, accessible to the public can enjoy a breathtaking view of the surroundings.
The building has undergone many changes over the centuries, and it is in fact a Romanesque part, a choir and a Gothic apse, as well as elements of the nineteenth century. Inside, it is also possible to discover the windows of the second half of the nineteenth century marble Baroque altar of the eighteenth century and the neo-Gothic stalls.
