Just 20 kilometers from Bordeaux, Canéjan draws its features in the wooded countryside crossed by the Eau Bourde, a river taking its source in Cestas and feeding the Garonne. The first traces of the village date back to the Gallo-Roman period. Then, the medieval period leaves its imprint by sarcophagi of Merovingians discovered under the church. Canéjan was a small village of about 500 souls who knew well a dark time when many lost their lives fighting the fire of the Puch in 1949. Since then, the commune has dressed its wounds and now houses nearly 5,300 inhabitants. It is therefore a common gay and surrounded by greenery that awaits you to recharge your batteries.
