Located in the town of Cagnes-sur-Mer, in the Alpes-Maritimes, the Côte d'Azur racecourse takes place on an exceptional site, on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Opened in the early 1950s with temporary infrastructure, it was officially inaugurated in 1960.
The Côte d'Azur racecourse covers around sixty hectares, with a capacity of 11,300 people, including 6,000 in the stands. It has several tracks, including sixteen hectares of grass tracks, a fiber-sand track, and a red earth trotting track. Second racecourse in France, it is the scene of two meetings in winter and in summer affecting all horse disciplines. The Hippodrome de la Côte d'Azur also hosts the Grand Critérium de Vitesse de la Côte d'Azur, one of the great trotting classics in Europe.
Guided thematic tours are regularly organized there for groups or individuals.
