Located at Caderousse, in the Vaucluse, the Saint-Michel church is a magnificent religious building in Romanesque-Gothic style classified as a Historic Monument. Built in the 10th century, it was then a simple relief chapel for the inhabitants of the village. Of the original building, only a few vestiges remain today integrated into the current cul de four dating from the 11th century.
Having undergone many transformations until the 16th century, the church of Saint-Michel represents on its exterior one of the rare witnesses of the flamboyant Provençal Gothic still in state, in particular thanks to its very beautiful bell tower with arcade. Completely renovated in the 1980s, it reveals in its interior several richly decorated chapels built by wealthy families from the surrounding area, whose tombs they still contain.
