Cadéac is a town of Hautes-Pyrenees, almost 300 inhabitants, which takes place in the mountains of the Pyrenees, in the heart of the Aure valley. It borders Lancon and Grézian.

The village takes its name from an ancient area named after a wealthy Roman, Catenus. One called CADIAC in Occitan has a charming architectural heritage that captivates visitors came to discover the charms of the Pyrenees.

Nearby, the landscapes and views of the famous massive border of Spain are the scene of many hiking and other outdoor activities. This almost wild nature can appreciate the local fauna and flora by foot, mountain bike or horse, time of enchanting walks.

Things to see and do

Charming little village in the Pyrenees, Cadéac hosts within itself beautiful buildings, like the Chapel of Our Lady of Pene-Tailhade. Originally Romanesque, it was rebuilt in the second half of the sixteenth century and has been listed historical monument. Its porch spans a main road in a very original way.

In the village of Saint-Félix church, built in the sixteenth century and rebuilt in the nineteenth century does not lack interest.

One can also admire a watchtower, the ruins of Cadéac built in the thirteenth century, or the castle of Tramezaygues. The latter has one of the last vestiges of signal towers in the Aure valley.
