Buffard is located to the east and on the edge of the second largest national deciduous forest in France, the Chaux forest, approximately 20,000 hectares.
Buffard, positioned at the birth of the Val d'Amour, leaning on the foothills of the Jura mountains, offers a pleasant climate in summer and winter.
Location: 33 km southwest of Besançon. The Loue river forms the border with the Jura department. Buffard was a wine-growing village, the cellars of its old houses are living testimony to this.
