The country hazel (or hazel) is characterized by a very rugged terrain. The plateau of Ferrière culminates at 284 m while the Val d'Ozée, on the bell, reaches only 128 m. The commune of Coudreceau is characterized by a very diversified landscape. From the plateau and wooded slopes of Maurissure, we go down to the hamlet of La Poterie in the valley of La Cloche. From these fields and meadows, we go back to the village of Coudreceau and the plateau of La Ferrière, which represents a difference of 153 m.
The church, dedicated to Saint-Aubin, dates from the thirteenth century but was much reworked in the sixteenth. It is currently being restored and is not accessible to the public.
The hamlet of La Poterie, of a size equivalent to that of the town of Coudreceau itself, is mentioned in the 12th century, in the cartulary of Thiron, for its pottery activity: "The small pottery, leaded and varnished dishes, are shaped in the hamlet of La Poterie, near Coudreceau ". This hamlet sheltered indeed several families of potters and this, during several centuries. It was with the disappearance of Louis Legué, in 1954, that this activity stopped.
