Bourg of more than 900 inhabitants, Briord takes place in the Ain, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. It is located on the right bank of the Rhone, at the limit of the department of Isere, about sixty kilometers from Bourg-en-Bresse.
Occupied during the Roman era, then by the Burgundian and Merovingian kingdoms, the territory of Briord has preserved several vestiges of these periods, to be discovered in particular in the archaeological museum.
Always appreciated by visitors today, the municipality of Briord presents an architectural heritage of great interest, as well as a fauna and flora of great wealth. Quiet, the village is a haven of peace where it is good to spend a few days to appreciate the charm of the Ain and the history of this part of the Rhone region.
