City Reunion of over 12 000 inhabitants, Bras-Panon takes place about thirty kilometers from Saint-Denis, on the shores of the Indian Ocean. It is located on the banks of the River Mast, not far from St. Benedict, St. Andrew and Salazie.
Founded in the late nineteenth century, the town got its name Bras-Panon a funny story. Sent demarcation mission by the Superior Council of the Bourbon Island, in 1736, Joseph Panon had a fall and broke his arm on one of the ravines of the land. Beautiful garden city recognized for its landscapes and the beauty of its nature, Bras-Panon also owes its fame to its coffee plantations created from the early eighteenth century.
Today major producer of vanilla, the town also knows a great tourist activity through infrastructure and heritage.
