The Sainte-Anne church of Boulbon, in the Bouches-du-Rhône, 10 km southwest of Avignon, was built from 1626. It then succeeded a first Romanesque chapel. In 1875, the church was abandoned in favor of a larger and more modern building dedicated to Saint Joseph.
A time transformed into a shed although listed in the Inventory, the Sainte-Anne church was restored and converted into a municipal cultural center in 2009: the site regularly hosts exhibitions, conferences and shows.
Its nicely crafted gate has been preserved.
The old church can mark out a walk in the old center of this picturesque hilltop village, a perfect example of Provencal tradition, a former stronghold which dominated the course of the Rhône on the right bank.
