Known to house the most beautiful belltower of Provence, Saint-Symphorien priory takes place in the municipality of Bonnieux the heart of Vaucluse, in the Luberon. This Provençal Romanesque church listed building was originally an outbuilding of the abbey of Saint-Victor de Marseille.
Built between the eleventh and twelfth centuries, the site was the subject of a major restoration campaign in the twentieth century. Fully rubble, the bell tower of the twelfth century topped by a small square roof has impressive chaining angles in stone with double bays arched columns to the second floor and simple arrays first.
