Lighthouse Pertusato overlooks a famous rock pierced through and through. From him it is named: Pertusatu (in Bonifacio: Pertüsaiu: perforated; Pertüsu: hole).
Its square tower, with a size of 16.5 m, masonry stone walls, overlooking a rectangular shaped building overlooking the sea to a height of 99.50 m. Its location was decided November 24, 1839 by the Commission des Phares under the Ministry of Public Works.
Indeed in spring 1838 a commission arrived in Corsica. She is responsible for determining the appropriate location of the five lighthouses provided as part of general illumination. The first will be located in the islands of the Bloodthirsty, the second Pertusato, third Chiappa, the fourth to the Giraglia (extreme tip of Cap Corse) and the last to Revellata, only lighthouse north west of the island.
The lighthouse was inaugurated in 1844 and automated in 1985.
